Castlelyons Juvenile GAA is holding a Monster Blitz on Sunday the 26th of August. This Blitz is being held instead of the Family Fun Day which unfortunately has become a victim of our wet summer and clashes with championship matches etc. Proceedings are due to kick off around 12 noon on Sunday the 26th with 5 visiting clubs and matches planned at U6/U8 and U10 level. Teas/coffees and a monster raffle are also planned for the day.
The spectacle of over 1,000 multi coloured balloons being released into the sky, was one of the high lights of last years’ Family Fun Day and so this year the Balloon Race is back by popular demand. The majority of the balloon tickets have been sold but there will be some tickets available to purchase on the day at €5 each with some great prizes. First Prize is a 42″ flat screen TV, Second Prize a Smartphone and Third prize is a digital camera.
So why not come down to the pitch on Sunday 26th to see some of the hero’s of tomorrow in action. This is your opportunity to support your local club and who knows you might even take home a great prize.

MINI GARDEN FETE – Sunday 24 June – Blackley’s, Gurrane, Fermoy.
Our fete this year will have an enormous stall of the beautiful goods and presents that we sell at a fraction of their real price. We have several beautiful little wooden houses (bird feeders), throws and lots of unusual items. We hope to have baking and plants in good supply and games for the children. Entry is kept at €5 inc. refreshments – so don’t miss a lovely garden afternoon with delicious tea and lots of interest.
Our own Con Lawlor from Coolagown will be undertaking a 5 day 650KM cycle from Lyon to Nice in July for the Irish Hospice Foundation. There will be a fundraising BBQ at the Peddlers Rock, Castlelyons this Sat from 9.30pm. No entry fee, donations accepted. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
We wish Con all the best in his endeavour.
We would like to congratulate Diarmuid Barry on his great win in this last months (May) Superdraw. Diarmuid scooped the jackpot of €1000! Well done Diarmuid and don’t spend it all in the one shop!
