About Our Group:

We had two very fulfilling years in 2010-2011 in the Community Care Group. Our members participated in a wide variety of activities which were run by our group and these were thoroughly enjoyed by all. Our key activities incude the following:

Open House – A group of about 20 or 30 people get together on Monday afternoon in the Community Centre, where we enjoy excercise, games, dance, bingo as well the the vital cup of tea and a chat. Anyone wishing to join us please just come along you will be made very welcome.

Trips – Our trips are always very popular and seats on the bus are in great demand! Over the past year we have had trips to Killarney, Milstreet, Kinsale and of course our most recent trip to Moneygal which also included a stop off in Thurles where we had a lovely meal at the famous Hayes Hotel.

Arus an Uachtarain – The organsing committee of the Community Care Group were invited to meet Mary McAleese and her husband Martin in July 2010. While there we enjoyed a tour of the Arus and then we joined other groups from all over Ireland for a Garden Party.

Social Nights – We hold social evenings where other neighbouring parishes attend, and we also attend social evenings when invited by neighbouring groups. We also attended AOSTA Social and Jamboree in Mallow.

Security – We organise and fit security pendants for the elderly and those living alone. We have a long list of people availing of this service and anyone in need of same should contact any committee memeber.

Church Radios – These are of great benefit to the sick or housebound of our parish. These radios can be obtained by contacting Fr Coleman or any comittee member.

Meals on Wheels – This is a very important activity within our group. we have a very dedicated team who provide meals 4 days a week for those in our community who need it. This is not only providing vital nourishment but gives very necessary social contact to the people concerned. Anyone interested in helping out please contact any of our committee members.

New Members – We are a small group of dedicated people and we welcome any new members who feel they would like to get involved. Just contact any committee member.
